Chartered Institute for Business Accountants

- Bookkeepers, accounting technicians and business accountants in practice and in employment.
- Why membership matters
- A professional community for people who keep the books, technical resources, continuing professional development and a route from membership to a designation as your experience grows.
- Membership
- CIBA admits members before they hold a designation; a designation can be applied for later, on the institute's requirements.
- Designations
- Chartered Bookkeeper and the designations above it. Awarded on the body's own requirements.
- CPD
- CPD recognition subject to approval. Designations carry ongoing CPD requirements set by CIBA.
- Relationship with NIBS
- Relevant professional body. NIBS has no partnership with it and holds no CPD approval from it. Membership is between you and the body, on its own requirements.
IITPSA
Institute of Information Technology Professionals South Africa
Information and communication technology

- ICT practitioners and professionals, from support and systems administration to governance and security.
- Why membership matters
- Professional standing in ICT, a code of conduct, continuing professional development and designations that employers and tenders recognise.
- Membership
- Membership grades lead to professional designations that include competency assessment and CPD obligations.

- Certified Member, Professional Member. Awarded on the body's own requirements.
- Recognition of prior learning
- IITPSA publishes recognition of prior learning routes for certain designations.
- CPD
- CPD recognition subject to approval. IITPSA accredits education providers for CPD; NIBS holds no such accreditation.
- Relationship with NIBS
- Relevant professional body. NIBS has no partnership with it and holds no CPD approval from it. Membership is between you and the body, on its own requirements.
SABPP
South African Board for People Practices
Human resources and people practices
- Who they represent
- HR practitioners at every level, from HR administration to chartered and master professionals.
- Why membership matters
- Professional registration in HR, a recognised standard of practice, continuing professional development and a ladder of professional levels to grow through.
- Membership
- Registration considers your qualification, level of work and experience; an RPL route exists for people who do not meet the standard route.
- Designations
- HR Technician, HR Associate, HR Professional, Chartered HR Professional, Master HR Professional. Awarded on the body's own requirements.
- Recognition of prior learning
- SABPP provides an RPL route for applicants who do not meet the normal requirements.
- CPD
- CPD recognition subject to approval. SABPP runs a CPD provider system; NIBS is not an accredited provider.
- Relationship with NIBS
- Relevant professional body. NIBS has no partnership with it and holds no CPD approval from it. Membership is between you and the body, on its own requirements.
Other fields, such as project management, procurement, property, quality and compliance, are added here as the relevant bodies are identified. NIBS names a body only when it is the relevant one, and describes a partnership or CPD approval only when it exists.
